Daniel and His Three Companions.

Last night I just got back from a college conference. IT WAS AWESOME! The topic for this semester's conference is: "God's Move through Young People". I was so glad I went, I almost didn't go. BUT! Last week, I know there were a couple of sisters that interceded for me, they prayed for me to go and shame on you satan, I went!

So, I actually enjoyed everything during the conference. But for this post, I'll just share on my enjoyment on our Bible Study: Daniel and His Three Companions.

When the Israelites were captured by Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, Daniel and his three companions: Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (some of you might also know them by Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego), were really young and they were chosen by Nebuchadnezzar to be trained and appointed by the king to a daily portion of the king's choice provision and from the wine that he drank. However! I enjoyed that Daniel is a person that is joined to God's desire through the Word.

Daniel must have read Leviticus and Deuteronomy and find out that God's people cannot partake of any food that has touched the idols. Since he read these commandments and therefore knew God's deisre, he accepted them and applied them to himself (quoted from the supplemental reading). Daniel 1:8 says, "But Daniel set his heart not to defile himself with the king's choice provision and wth the wine that the king drank, so he requested of the leader of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." Daniel is a person who was joined to God's Word! He received and keep the Word. He did not read the Bible in a dead way, instead, as soon as he touched God's desire through the Word, he immediately knew and joined himself to God's desire. He did not want to be defiled by the king's choice provision because he knew that those food was sacrificed to the idols.

Amen! We have to be like Daniel, whenever we read the Bible, we have to receive and keep the Word. Also whenever we find out God's desire, we must immediately join ourselves to that desire. We do not want to be like the Pharisees who basically learned and memorized the Scriptures in a dead way. They totally missed the one thing they've been waiting for their whole life. Jesus was physically there in front of them but they totally missed it! Can you believe that? We don't want to be like them! We don't want to miss out of Christ!

Therefore, when we read the Bible, let's be open to the Lord's speaking, receive it, keep it, accepted it and applied it to ourselves.

So, this is only a tiny part of the conference! It doesn't give the whole picture of the conference. So, if I see others that came to the conference shared their enjoyment on their blog, I will share their links to y'all.
