Singapore Tourists: Chilling with the Chinchillas.

Let's continue on my Day 1 in Singapore. After we ate all those yummy food, we went to the pet store. I thought the pet store was pretty interesting. I haven't been into a pet store for a while, so I was pretty excited. Here are a few of the pictures I took from the pet store. Actually, I wasn't allowed to take these pictures, but I didn't know until I took these pictures...oops.

Chinchillas... I have to say its one of the weirdest animal I've seen.
Grooming center in the pet shop. All of the animals are so cute
Tanning Turtle... reminds of the Turtle Pond on campus.
After we walk around the pet store, we went to Sentosa Island to look around the Universal Studios Resort area. I guess we went pretty late during the day, so everyone was on their way back when we got onto the train. I thought the place was pretty neat, but it was raining, so we didn't really enjoy it. But at least we took some pictures.

Guess which one is me! Hehehe.

I have to say that the resort was pretty nice, but it was too small. Can't really say anything about it though, since Singapore itself is already tiny. And of course, the stores in the resort were very elaborate and cute. They have Hershey's, Candylicious, etc. Oh, and a couple of restaurants.

Initially, we were waiting for the water light show that was going to start at 9:30 pm. But we were too tired, so we ended up walking around the place, we went to Toast Box and went back to the mainland at 8:30 pm without watching the show.

Toast Box was pretty good. KL has been craving for Singapore's kaya toast + half boiled egg + coffee. For you that doesn't know what "kaya toast" is, here's a wiki explanation (sorry, I'm too lazy to use my own words): a popular snack amongst Singaporeans and Malaysians. It consists of kaya, a spread of eggs, sugar and coconut milk and flavored with pandan on toasted or fresh bread or cream crackers. Butter or margarine may be spread as well. KL attempted to made a kaya jam in Austin and after tasting the real kaya jam from Toast Box, I would say that KL's jam was pretty close. :D

Thus, after that we went home and rest.
